Dewitt High School Biology Visit

The Dewitt High School AP Biology class toured the Waters and McKinley lab to learn about qorum sensing, biofilm formation, and the evolution of coopertive behavoris. In the Waters lab, the students observed bioluminescent Vibrio harveyi, motile V. cholerae, and they were able to plate their own V. harveyi to observe at home. The McKinley lab featured biofilm forming Avidians, evolved robots, and robotic oil-sensing fish swimming in a 5,000 gallon tank. It was a fun time for both the visitors and the hosts!
