Major:

Why Tower Guard:

I joined Tower Guard because of the incredible opportunities and experiences it offers. Not only is it an honor society, but it is also a way to give back by serving the RCPD and the community. Tower Guard has allowed me to serve, lead, and grow as an individual. This also provides an avenue to make new friends, volunteer with purpose, and gain an unforgettable once in a life time experience.

Annette Kim

Run Chair

Major:

Undecided

Why Tower Guard:

When I first got an invitation from the Tower Guard, I wasn't quite sure of what this organization is about. After looking up about the organization, I realized joining this organization can be a great chance to go beyond my comfort zone and reach out for more diverse people on campus. The goal of Tower Guard to collaborate with RCPD to help students with disabilities to gain an equal opportunity and academic achievements started to become my interest and my goal as well. When I heard about the e-board positions, I wanted to be part of it and as a result I became one of the run chairs. There are many reasons why I have ran for this position, but the biggest reason is that since I love running, I thought it would be a great way to use my personal interest to serve for Tower Guard and to help organizing the shamrock race that can function as a unique experience for RCPD students and to the community. In the upcoming year, I am very excited to be part of organizing the Shamrock race with other e-board members and the Tower Guard members.

Fundraiser Chair

Major:

Supply Chain Management and Packaging

Why Tower Guard:

Like other members, I joined Tower Guard because I wanted to be able to help people in need. When I was younger, I often closed my eyes and tried to navigate around the house. It was hard; I bumped into furniture, knocked down stuff, and made a mess of the house. And yet through Tower Guard I have heard of students with disabilities getting master and doctorate degrees, isn?t that amazing? By joining Tower Guard, I want to be able to help students with disabilities achieving what they deserve.

Why Tower Guard:

I joined Tower Guard because I wanted to make a difference at Michigan State in a special way. On such a massive campus, it is easy for individuals to become anonymous. I wanted to leave a footprint here that extends beyond earning a degree. Joining Tower Guard has provided me the opportunity to positively impact MSU, all while having fun and working with some remarkable people. The most gratifying part of Tower Guard is seeing how appreciative the RCPD employees and students are after even the simplest deed.

Having the opportunity to directly impact other's lives has been such a great experience! I joined Tower Guard in order to be a part of something larger than myself, and that is exactly what Tower Guard has done for me.
