Research at MAPLES

The Multiscale mAgnetic and Physical Properties Lab for Earth Science (MAPLES) facilitates broader geophysics and environmental research both on land and at sea (oceans, lakes). At MAPLES, our primary research foci are in the following areas: i) characterizing tectonic, volcanic/magmatic, and geomagnetic processes of Earth using potential field measurements, acoustic remote sensing, and active source seismics; (ii) investigating interactions between water and CO2 and host rock formation and their geological consequences over time; and, (iii) developing novel quantitative approaches and devices that contribute to (marine-) geophysics operations.
