Guillaume de Syon teaches European history and the history of technology at Albright College in Reading, PA. He is also a research associate at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. He is the author of Zeppelin! Germany and the Airship, 1900-1939 (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2002, 2007) and of articles on the cultural history of aviation ranging from gender and flight to advertising and airline food. More recently he published work on government censorship of comics and caricature in France, and on the role of the postcard in the creation of a European mass culture of technology in the early twentieth century.
