About the Club
The Michigan State University Men’s Club Soccer Team is a student run organization which provides an organized and competitive soccer team at the national collegiate club level. The club seeks members who are not only quality athletes, but also committed to their education and being active in the East Lansing community.
MSU Club Soccer is a serious commitment. Attendance is expected at all games, practices, and training sessions. For the Fall 2013 season, practice will be held 2 times a week, and conditioning is expected on the off days. Nearly every weekend we have games. Travel to away games is done through car pools, and occasionally we stay overnight in hotels for weekend tournaments.
We also compete in an out of state Regional Tournament at the end of the season to vie for an invitation to the National Club Tournament. Our team has competed in the National Tournament during the following seasons:
2012 (National Champions)
2011 (Sweet 16)
2009 (Elite 8)
2008 (Sweet 16)
The club is self-funded. Last year, dues were $450 per person for the regular season, although fundraising opportunities may be available to alleviate some of the cost. Dues are required in order to pay for travel expenses, field rentals, referees, hotels, coaching fees, and other costs.
