The Michigan State Dance Team is a part of the Michigan State Athletic Department. This team is made up of dedicated and talented dancers who wish to represent the university in a positive and spirited manner. As a member, they have the opportunity to perform at all home football and men's and women's basketball games, other home athletic events, as well as bowl games, the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments, and various community and alumni functions.
During the school year, the team practices three times a week, three hours a day to prepare for games and other events. Football Saturdays include performing for various tailgates around campus, followed by the game with a special third-quarter performance with the MSU Drumline for the student section. (If you are interested in having the MSU Dance Team perform at your tailgate, please contact us.) Basketball games allow the team to perform short one minute dances at timeouts. The dances are choreographed by the team, giving them a chance to showcase their creativity.
