I am the Director of the CeLTA Language School at Michigan State University and also serve as Executive Associate Director in the Center for Language Teaching Advancement (CeLTA).
In addition, I currently serve as President of the Michigan American Association of Teachers of German, President-Elect of the Michigan World Language Association, Senior International Vice President of Phi Beta Delta, and Member-at-Large of the Michigan Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi.
My research interests include Second Language Acquisition, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, Program Development, Community Engagement and Service-Learning, and Assessment.
My dissertation is titled "Engaging the Foreign Language Learner: Using Hybrid Instruction to Bridge the Language-Literature Gap" and was completed under the direction of Drs. Karin Wurst and Charlene Polio in August 2008.
I also hold two M.A.s from Michigan State University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (2005) and German Studies (2002) and B.A. equivalents from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Germany in German and English (2000).
