Visit with the Ugandan Health Ministry

Professor Nassiri, IIH Director, traveled to Uganda in November to meet with members of the Ugandan Health Ministry, including Dr. Likawago Asuman, Permanent Secretary to the Ugandan Health Minister. The delegation discussed health development projects and research programming between the Ugandan Health Ministry and Michigan State University's Institute of International Health. The visit was facilitated by Daniels Zziwa, Secretary for Health, Education and Sports, Mubende District Local Government.

World AIDs Day: December 1st

Dr. Nassiri, the director of the Institute of International Health, was invited to Beijing to present at a conference for World AIDS day on December 2nd. Click here to learn more about this conference.

Dr. Bruno Kubata, Coordinator of Research for Health Initiatives in Africa and Director of African Union's NEPAD/NPCA Office for Eastern and Central Africa, met with IIH Director Professor Reza Nassiri and IIH council members Dr. Charles Gliozzo, Dr. John Kaneene, and Dr. James Trosko in August. The group met to identify areas of strategic interests for enhanced research collaboration and new partnership opportunities that will improve the health and well-being of millions of Africans.
