EEBB Requirements

Because of the dual-major with EEBB and participating departments, candidates must fulfill both the departmental requirements and the following EEBB graduate degree requirements:

Ph.D. Program. During the first year of study toward a dual-major Ph.D. degree, the student and the major professor select a guidance committee that will assist in planning the student's program of study for both the department and the EEBB program. At least two members of the student's guidance committee shall be members of the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior faculty. One EEBB faculty member must serve as the student's Ph.D. advisor. The dual-major consists of the completion of the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior required core courses listed below.

  • One 800-level course in evolution offered by the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (3 credits)

  • One 800-level course in quantitative methods offered by the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (3 credits)

  • One 800-level course in ecology offered by the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (3 credits)

Master's Program. During the first year of study towards a master's degree with specialization in EEBB, the student and the major professor select a guidance committee that will assist in planning the student's program of study for both the department and the EEBB program. At least one member of the student's guidance committee shall be a member of the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior faculty. The specialization consists of the completion of the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior required core courses listed below.

  • One 800-level course in evolution offered by the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (3 credits)

  • One 800-level course in ecology offered by the College of Natural Science or the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (3 credits)
