Hook: Mustad #3260B (Ringed Gold Plated Aberdeen Hook), size 8, or any other similar hook of 1X or 2X length.
Thread: Green 8/0
Body: Mostly purple deer hair (also black, red, or blue)
Start the thread at the bend of the hook. Spin deer hair moving forward until you are about 1/4 " from the eye of hook. Cover remaining portion of hook with green wraps of thread. Whip finish (or use two half hitches) and cement head. Trim deer hair to resemble a mulbery, being sure to trim sufficiently above hook point to allow the point to penetrate easily. Black, blue, or red deer hair can be added to give a mottled appearance.
