Back to SCATIR Switch Page
One of the considerations in using an eye-control switch is that eye blinking is generally good for eye comfort and health, helping the eye to keep moist and relieving muscle strain.
The SCATIR switch can be positioned to distinguish between an eye blink (which we wish to ignore) and a wink (which we wish to use as a purposive input signal).
In this little movie (an animated GIF, takes a little while to download), Katie demonstrates the difference between blinking and winking. Watch the LED light on the SCATIR switch housing on the left. When the SCATIR switch is activated, the light goes on.
