Materials: Worsted weight yarn (sample shown in Lion Brand Fisherman Yarn); size 7 needles; cable needle

Cast on 62 stitches.

Rows 1, 3, 5: *K1, p1; rep from * across row
Rows 2, 4, 6: *P1, k1; rep from * across row

Foundation/Increase Row (right side): work first 5 sts in seed stitch,
place marker, K2, M1, k1, [p4, k2, M1, k1] 7 times, end
k2, M1, k1, place marker, 5 sts seed st (70 sts).

Keeping first and last 5 sts in seed stitch pattern, continue in pattern
as established. Work 5 complete repeats of chart/pattern. 

Row 1 and all wrong-side rows: Work stitches as they present themselves
Row 2: K2, *2/2 LPC, 2/2 RPC; rep from * 7 times; end k2
Row 4: K2, p2 [2/2 LC, p4] 6 times, 2/2 LC, p2, k2
Row 6: K2, *2/2 RPC, 2/2 LPC; rep from * 7 times, end k2
Row 8: [2/2 RC, p4] 7 times, end 2/2 RC
Row 10: [K4, p4] 7 times, end k4
Row 12: [2/2 RC, p4] 7 times, end 2/2 RC

K Knit on right side, purl on wrong side
P Purl on right side, knit on wrong side
2/2 RC Slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold at back, k2, k2 from cn

2/2 LC Slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold at front, k2, k2 from cn
2/2 RPC Slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold at back, k2, p2 from cn
2/2 LPC Slip next 2 sts to cable needle and hold at front, p2, k2 from cn


Begin working seed st pattern across all sts of row, decreasing 8 times
above cable patterns to match increases in foundation row. Work seed
stitch for one inch, and bind off in pattern.
