  Work Assignments

A reminder to all teams, when teams lose in both the Challenge Round (Saturday) and in Bracket play (Sunday), they will need to officiate the next match on the court where you played. Teams in pools of 3 should also pay attention to officiating assignments for the crossover matches.

THERE ARE PENALTIES  for being LATE for or MISSING Work Assignments

Tie Breaking Criteria

Ranking of Teams – In each pool, teams will be ranked by [1] match record, [2] set record and [3] point ratio - points won divided by points lost in all pool matches.  Teams will not be eliminated from advancing toward the Gold Bracket using only the pool ranking statistics.

In the event of 2-way tie, the head-to-head match result will resolve the tie.  (A 2-way tie at this tournament can only occur in a pool of 4.  In this case the pool will have two 2-way ties, for 1st place and for 3rd place.

In the event of a 3-way tie, the ranking statistics will determine the relative pool finish.  (At this tournament a 3-way tie will involve a match split among the tied teams.) If the tie is for 1st place (pool of 4 or pool of 3), no playoff matches occur because all tied teams advance to the Challenge Round and can still qualify for the Gold Bracket.  If the 3-way tie is for 2nd in a pool of 4, one playoff match (1 set to 25 points) will be played.  After applying the pool ranking statistics the 3rd and 4th place teams will play with the 2nd place team supplying the work crew.

For Division 1 Group A, see the Director of Competition when the results involve 3-way (or more) ties in match record.

Important Note:  Behavior at this event is governed by the NVCF Code of Conduct.  We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the Tournament’s great traditions of sportsmanship.
