Help on Campus

There are lots of places to go for help in this area. First, you want to check out the Writing Center in 300 Bessey Hall. A consultant will work with you one-on-one to brainstorm, organize your ideas and polish a rough draft. Call the Grammar Hotline (432-3610), Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00 or email them at writing@msu.edu.

The Learning Resources Center in 202 Bessey Hall offers assistance on the Reading/Writing Connection.

A frequently overlooked source of help is the instructor who assigned the paper. Consult your instructor for help with clarifying ideas, making an outline, and reviewing a first draft.

The University takes the issue of academic integrity very seriously. All of these resources, especially your instructor, can help you to understand how to avoid unintentional plagiarism.
