Developmental Biology Concept Maps

Part I: Animal Development Concept Map (10 points)

Task. Demonstrate your understanding of principles of Animal Development. Create a Concept Map to show your understanding of the relationships of several concepts and processes that we have been studying in sea urchins and other animals.

1. Use the following 12 concepts in creating your concept map:

gametes, fertilization, organogenesis, gastrula, differential gene expression, cleavage, blastula, cell division, cell differentiation, embryo, primary germ layers, morula

Task. Demonstrate your understanding of principles of Plant Development. Create a Concept Map to show your understanding of the relationships of several concepts and processes that we have been studying in Arabidopsis and other plants.

pollen, double fertilization, root and shoot apical meristems, ovule, endosperm, egg cell, hypocotyl and root, asymmetric cell division, cell differentiation, embryo, primary germ layers, cotyledons
