Thank you for visiting the Omo Zion United Methodist Church Web Site. If you are having problems viewing the site, please try the suggestions on this page. If you need any further help or have any questions, please feel free to send them to the webmaster.

Overview

This site has been designed and optimized for viewing with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher at a screen resolution of 800 by 600 or higher. The site is functional with all major browsers, however, certain elements may not display properly out of Internet Explorer. Much of the formatting and graphics are rendered using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and display slightly different in Netscape 6.0 or higher, and many elements do not function at all in older versions. You can download the newest version of Internet Explorer 6.0 (Prefered) for free by clicking HERE or Netscape's browser by clicking HERE.

Viewing Problems

Problem: Page is too wide for screen. I need to scroll horizontally to view page.Screen Shot

Most likely your screen resolution is set lower than 800 by 600. You can change this in Windows by going to Start then Settings then Control Panel then Display. One the Display window that opens, click on the Settings tap. There you can change the Screen Resolution to at least 800 by 600. Most web sites are now optimized for 800 by 600, so this will aid in viewing other sites, not just this one. If you have an 18 inch or larger monitor, you my find that 1024 by 768 enables the best viewing on your computer.

Problem: The fonts are strange sizes and colors.

Most likely, the Cascading Style Sheets are not being properly read. This will happen with older browsers. You can get the newest version of Internet Explorer for free by clicking here, or if you prefer Netscape Navigator, you can download it for free here.

Printing:

Problem: When I print in Internet Explorer, it cuts off the side of the page.Screen Shot

There are two ways to print pages in their entirety. You can print in Internet Explorer by going to "Page Setup.." under File and then changing the page from Portrait to Landscape. By printing in Landscape mode, the paper will be wide enough to fit the entire width of the page. However, not as much information will fit on one page.

The second way to print is with with Netscape Navigator 6.0 or newer. While it is not recommenced to view the site with Netscape, it does, however, print better than Internet Explorer. With Netscape, you can just print the pages without needing to change the page orientation.

Problem: The table colors and background do not print.

Screen ShotBy default, background colors and image do not print in Internet Explorer or Netscape. You can easily print the background in Netscape 6.0 or newer by clicking on "Page Setup" under "File." Then click on "Print Background (colors and images)" Then click on "OK" at the bottom of the window and then print as usual.

Please Note: It is not recommended you leave your settings to print backgrounds while visiting other sites. Sites with dark backgrounds will use a lot of ink if you print the backgrounds.

If you experiance any other problems, please send them to vanheve2@msu.edu.
