I have a very small happy immediate
family, Dad, Mom and me.

My Dad, Lt. Gen. Dr. Pravit Tanprasert,
is a cardiologist. He works in Royal
Thai Army Medical Department. Now he is the director of
Pramongkutklao
Medicine Center.

Other than his full-time job in the
army, he practices Payathai Hospital. He also takes part in
many organizations including
- Committee in International
Society of Heart Research (ISHR) Australasian Section
- Technical director of Information
Center on Men's Health (ICMH)
- Committee of Thai
Heart Association
He was also a co-author in the two articles
I found on internet
- Influence
of Stent Size on Clinical Outcome After Colonary Stent Placement
- Cardiac
Rehabilitation Outcome of Home-based Walking Program vs.Supervised
Hospital-based Exercise Program in Patients with Uncomplicated
Acute Coronary Syndrome
My Mom, Dr. Kunnikar Tanprasert, is
a pediatrician and was working at Huachiew Hospital however
she stopped practicing since she got involved more in adminstration
work in the hospital and later in Huachiew College, the Nursing
College associated with the same hospital. From there, she
took another important job of forming a new university which
is now known as "Huachiew
Chalermprakiet University". She served as a first
president of the university before she early retired. Now,
she is on a Huachiew Chalermprakiet University board and works
part-time on a special projects at the university. The project
she has been involved are about Chinese immigration in Thailand,
History of Por-Tek-Tueng Association, Mr. Uthane Techapaiboon
bibliography, and History of Klai-Kang-Won (far from worry)
Summer Palace. One of her research (I believe it is the first
one about chinese immmigration) received an award of a good
research.
This is my immediate family
but when I talk about family, I usually mean my whole family
and there are a lot of people my family. This picture is my
family (Dad side) in 1993 on my grandfather's birthday.

The number of this family
stayed the same until 1996 when we lost our beloved grandfather
on August 12. It was such a great loss to us because he was
a great person, a family leader. He always care about all
of us not only in this family but with the brother of my grandmother's
family, a family abroad and all of the in law's family. In
1998, my sister (well, she's actually my cousin but I always
think of her as a sister), P'Nok, got married to P'Nueng.

In 2001, P'Nok and P'Nueng
had a baby, Nong Nam, the newest member in our family.
This is the most recent
picture of the family taken on my grandma's birthday in 2001.

The family on my Mom side
is a big family too. This is the most recent group picture
(but doesn't have everyone) taken on my grandma's 84th birthday.
The party was at my home.

There are other two family
that are directly related to me. One is the brother of grandma
(Dad's mom)'s family. Most of them live in ChiangMai. I spent
sometime with them when I was younger but since we grew up,
it is so difficult to find a chance to meet them.
The other family I should mention is
a family of my grandpa (Dad's dad)'s sister. They live in
Hong Kong. They came to visit us once in a while. This picture
was with some of them when my grandma went to visit them.
