"Kate"
is the name that most friends and relatives use to call me.
My official name is "Krittika
Tanprasert".
I spent my toddle year in Pontiac,
Michigan.
Then, my very early childhood in Chicago,
Illinois.
My parents decided
to move back to Thailand
where I spent 18 years there with my
lovely family.
In Thailand, I went to St.
Joseph Bangna, Triamudomsuksa
Pattanakarn, and Triamudomsuksa
in Bangkok. I have met many good friends
at all these schools. Among all, there's one special person
- Preechapan.
Then, I continued my study in Food
Science at King
Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Again, I
have met many good friends
there.
After completion of my bachelor, I
decided to study packaging. Well, back then, the only school
offer packaging is School
of Packaging, Michigan
State University. So, I am back in Michigan again but
this time in E.Lansing.
This is what bring me back to Michigan. I had my master degree
in Packaging. I was working on Shelf life of non-fat dry milk
under Dr.
Hernandez. I enjoy working with him so I continue working
with him for my Ph.D. My work is related to the active packaging
that will prolong the shelf life of fruit and vegetable by
releasing a compound called "MCP". Thanks to MCDF
for financial support for my Ph.D. program and Dr. Jay who
always take good care of MCDF fellow.
Apart from studying, I have been involved
in other activity in School of Packaging. I had been TA for
many classes. I also helped
out in some testing
and seminar
that organized at School of Packaging. Plus, I'm a member
of MSUPGA
- Packaging Graduate Association. I have met lots of good
people here Michigan
State University too.
