Thanks to generous support by Alumni, the College of Natural Science, the University, corporate sponsors, and research grants, students will benefit from excellent research and teaching facilities. These include new and well equipped labs with rock collections, microscopes, and computer terminals. Our state-of-the-art research equipment and analysis facilities ensure that students will have premier opportunities to engage in high-quality research.
The weekly Lecture Series brings renowned researchers to campus for interaction with both faculty and students. An active Geology Club organizes activities throughout the year for all students. We have active student chapters of the AAPG and SEG.
As our student you will benefit from collaborations with other MSU academic units, including Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Behavior, Kellogg Biological Station, Plant Biology, Geography, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Crop and Soil Sciences, and the Division of Science and Mathematics Education.
