Artist Bio: Peter J. Richards

Peter J. Richards currently lives and paints in Lansing, Michigan. Richards works with oils, acrylics, and mixed media. He also utilizes digital media for both design and fine art.

It is the artist's belief that color, texture and shape form a language that may be used to convey emotional or philosophical content, in the way that music utilizes vibration and dynamics for similar purpose.

Strong design and color sense and a fascination with texture inform this artist, who credits Robert Motherwell, Clyfford Still and Donald Sultan as significant influences on his processes and imagery.

Richards' artwork has been displayed in juried competitions, libraries, private offices, and in conjunction with musical and theatrical performances. His paintings reside in several personal collections across the United States.
