The Odd Couple. for the most part, is a sound play. The seams show a bit in the third act. I rewrote it five times out of town. I think I needed one more town.

Neil Simon also wrote The Odd Couple (female version) which premiered at Broadhurst Theatre, 1985, published by Samuel French, 1986.

Neil Simon wrote the screenplay for The Odd Couple II in 1997, which premiered at theaters in April, 1998.

Adaptations

Neil Simon's play The Odd Couple has been adapted by other writers for two television series, The Odd Couple, 1970, and The Oddball Couple: Together Again (also known as The Odd Couple: One More Time), CBS, 1993.
