Everclear-World Of Noise
This is an absolute great album. Every song is fantastic, Art's voice is beautiful, and the heavy pounding music just takes you away. I think that this album is a bit harsher and louder than the other two, but that is just one reason why I like it.
The songs aren't very catchy but they are full of meaning. This is definitely an album that I would want to see performed live. The pounding guitars and good drum sounds help give the songs seriousness and a mood which stays through the whole album. Art's voice can go from a soft melody to a screaming verse. He's telling a story and bringing it to life at the same time.
I think that this whole album is based on struggle. Most of Everclear's songs are autobiographical to Art's life. Loser Makes Good is kind of slower than the other songs but that depressing mood doesn't last for long. The music of each song varies from the lyrics so the whole album is not completely depressing.
The lyrics are so true and tell a whole story through just one song. Art's songwriting is just great. Invisible is based on a guy having Aids. It's probably how you would really feel if you were suffereing from it with the lyrics, "No one will touch my skin","I will not be ignored, I'm not invisible anymore." Sparkle sounds like it is based on a relationship. Good at first, then the shiny coating fades and it is just nothing special.
Overall, this album just completely rocked. I think that the songs are more full of feeling and sound less produced than the other two albums. Rather you like Everclear or not, you will almost definitely love this album.
