Garbage-Version 2.0

Good beats, good effects, good guitars, good vocals. Guess you could say this is a pretty good album

The diverse sounds sound great together. Synthesizers, keyboards, and other special instruments amplify shirley's voice and back up the guitars. It's perfect harmony. I Think I'm Paranoid shows off more of the heavy guitars, where as Special has more digital effects. All of the songs actually have a perfect mix of the two. Shirley's voice couldn't sound any better. From pretty to loud, it's all good. She helps set the tone of the music.

The lyrics are quite creative and original, as most lyrics are. From the nerotic I Think I'm Paranoid to the social-message chorus's of When I Grow Up and Special. With lyrics like, "When I grow up I'll be stable", and "Do You have an opinon? A mind of your own?" Shirley belts out angry lyrics with a pretty voice. For example, the song The Trick is to Keep Breathing and the ever-so-sexual lyrics from, Sleep Together, "if we sleep together, will you like me better?".

You can definitely tell that all these songs are by Garbage. No major surprises but nothing too bad. Good mixture of sounds, some slower than others but all have at least one part which really rocks.
I would have to say that this is a great album. I'm not a huge fan of Garbage but I definitely wasn't disappointed. The first time I listened to this album I instantly liked it, which doesn't happen often. One thing about Garbage that I have discovered, is that it is very hard to classify them into one music genre. This is a good thing, though. So probably anyone who listens to a little modern music would like this album.
