Rating: 9/10
The First track "Electra Made Me Blind" has great,
powerful guitar riffs and overwhelming vocals. It's a perfect
introduction song. Art is
the voice of the band, and what an amazing voice it is. His unique style helps
bring the music alive.
The lyrics scream the truth. Not exactly biographical, but enough to understand Art's life. "Heartspark
Dollar Sign" is based on a true event in Art's life. In "Heroin
Girl", there was no real Esther, but the lyrics, "Just
another overdose", are about Art's brother. That's what he
heard the police saying about him when he was found dead. "Pale
Green Stars" is about Art's daughter, but he changed the name
in the song because he thought that it would be to obvious. "You
Make Me Feel Like A Whore" is about how Art felt about one of the many record representatives he has dealt with.
Overall, this album is great. The lyrics are good,
the music is good, and it all sounds great
together. It is not one of those albums that you throw in the cd player and you skip around to only hear a few songs. Some of the songs are not as good when listened alone, as they are when listened with the rest of the album. The album itself is an experience. Whether you can relate to Art's words or not, they do sound sincere. The music is like a soundtrack to an autobiography, and the lyrics are vague yet descriptive enough to get a mental picture in your head. Listen to the whole entire album, or don't listen at all.

Whore for the class but changed the words to say "You make me feel like I'm four".
