Killer guitars
plus meaningful lyrics equals mind numbing sounds. This is a
great album. It contains everything a good album needs. Including
the fact that it was a debut. There weren't many, if any at all,
videos from this album aired on MTV and they didn't get much
radio air play. Rage built their fan base the way most
underground bands do, from their shows.
Musically, this
album is kind of somber. There is an eerie tune through out it.
This album really expresses how Rage means, supports, and acts
upon what they're singing about. From the cool guitar riffs to
the harshness of the drums, the album just plain rocks.
The lyrics, that
Zack more or less scream into your ear, are very powerful and
full of meaning. "Freedom" is based on a true story about a
man who was jailed for standing up for what he believed in. When
you read and listen to the words on this album, you'll realize
that there's a reason behind every song.
I'm not much into
politics, but I do respect the fact that Rage Against the Machine
is a political band. They draw attention to important national
events and put it into words that you can relate to. Excellent
album overall.
