Very good album, considering
its a debut. It is definitely packed full of surprises. KoRn has
a sense of humor even among all of its anger. Like the smashing
pumpkins if you listen closely you can hear special sound effects
or people whispering [laughing], and it will bring you back into
reality.
You would probably never think of electric guitars and bagpipes
ever being played together. Well, now you have. Jonathan Davis
makes the bagpipes an actual good kind of music and it blends in
so well in "Shoots & Ladders". That wasn't even an
experiment it was just him playing something he enjoyed. There
isn't much diversity in this album but enough not to get sick of
it.
