Rating: 7/10
This
album was not that bad. Some of the songs do sound the same on
this album but Green Day did experiment a little. With the
instrumental songs to the harmonica and string parts this album
brings out another side of Green Day that we havn't heard in a
while. "Hitchin' A Ride" is a great example of what this
album is like. It has some diversity but it also has the same
hard-rocking-punk kind of sound that distinguishes Green Day.
You can tell that the band has matured and grown up. Their sound on this album seems to be more together, and produced. Some songs are for fun, some are for point. Billie Joe keeps us in smiles once again with his humorous lyrics. The cathy guitar riffs put the music and lyrics together and make the sound friendly for new and old Green Day fans.
The
band has matured family-wise but they havn't greatly changed with
their music or lyrics. I think it's a pretty good album. Whether
you're in the mood to jump around or you just want something to
listen to, this album is a good pick.
