The music is classic STP: Being heavy, yet full of emotion. The music speaks for itself and is very strong. The lyrics are filled with lots of emotions, too. Anger, hatred, sadness, humor, it's all there. You can tell that some of it is autobiographical. They are all lyrically creative and Scott Weiland did a good job writing the songs.
Most of the songs have an upbeat tempo, with fast guitars and catchy lyrics. "Creep" is an exception. It has a few catchy lyrics but is one of the slower songs. The few other hits describe better how the rest of the album is.
You don't have to be a big Stone Temple Pilots fan to like this album. If you are into rock/'alternative' then you'll probably really enjoy this album.
