I first heard them on Muchmusic and I loved "Superman's
Dead". From Raine's low/high pitched voice changes to the
rest of the bands great musical abilities I really enjoyed this
album. When I first bought it I didn't know what to expect
because sometimes the popular songs are very different from the
rest of the album but the whole album was good. The lyrics are
great and I think some songs would sound terrible sung by any
other band. OLP's sound isn't real grunge but isn't hard core
either. It has the hard rock edge with a nice melody to it. If
you've heard and liked "Supermans Dead" or just want to
hear something different I highly recommend this album.
Rock with an electronic beat every now and then, but not too much of the synthesized stuff. Eerie, is how I describe their sound. Although, it is well produced, it feels as though they recorded in a dark warehouse, or something of that sort. Pretty somber words, wrote by Raine, and somber tone to the guitars, drums, and bass as well.
Of course their genred under Canadian Rock but its not much different from Creed ...except better of course.
