I wasn't quite
sure what to expect when I bought this album, since
"Dammit" was the only song that I had heard off of it.
Well, it was completely worth it. I love this album. Almost every
song is like a mini-story. You have to laugh when you listen to a
few songs 'cause you can actually picture it really happening.
Even the music itself is great. Practically all of the songs make
you want to get up and jump. The band may seem a little immature,
but their music isn't. If you're any type of punk or alternative
music fan, then i think you will really anjoy this album.
The lyrics are immature, of course, and primarily the same, but it's cute nonetheless. Mark's voice changes from song to song. Not a bad change, just odd. That was one of the first things that irked me about the album was Mark's voice in the first song, "Pathetic".
The music is simple pop-punk at its best. You can't expect much more than that. Catchy rhythms, riffs, basslines, etc. It's has a very feel good beat to it. Not much content, its just there to simply entertain.
The band itself are good entertainers. From the semi-humours cd booklet photos to recent history. Blink 182 feel that you should have a better reason to not like them, than just their music. Well, anyone getting into the new pop-punk scene should definitely own this album. Those who were into Blink 182 back before they were cool, should as well.
