The Art Of Disappointment - Benjamins
Rating: 6/10

The foundation of this album is made up of quirky pop-ities (i.e. vocals, riffs, mood). The odd, ever-changing vocals melodically (at times) singing out cute lyrics, lacking substance of course, but still cute nonetheless. Complete with catchy pop beats and sing-a-long chorus's, the Benjamins are almost safe for all ages, but not quite.

All this and more all contained into one little disc which makes The Art Of Disappointment...Thank you Benjamins. Going on not such a fun band name, with not perfect vocals, they don't do what they do too horribly. Of course it isn't anything that hasn't been done before, but at least they are ripping off okay music in an okay manner. ((Better than what I can say for Days Of The New in their ripping-off of Soundgarden)).

Okay, so the Benjimans might not be completely original, but it's good music for a change. It's poppy and upbeat and happy and makes me tap my feet. So what of it's been done before, they do what they do well and I like it.

((Most of this is in defense to what I have read of many people not liking the Benjamins)). Regardless, the music, though not amazingly complex, isn't just simple melodies and helps add substance to their sound.
