Give, the
first single off of this album, gives a false identity to what
the suicide machines sound like. They rhythmic, soft punk/ska
sound of the song does flow into some of the other tracks but
isn't there the whole time. Most of the album is more like
hard-core punk. It's quite a mixture, like within each song, of
the two types of music. The songs "Jah" and "Punck"
are little 5 second instrumental break, type tings. Most of the
songs are short. Excluding the two mentioned above, the shortest
song is 50 seconds and the longest is a whole 2:19.
I was a bit
disappointed in this album just because I wasn't expecting the
hard-core sound, even though I do like it. I'm just not crazy
about the quick change from hard-core punk into the ska sound,
within a song. But after listening to this album a few times you
do get used to it, or throw the cd out the window. Some examples
of the style changes are in the songs, "Face Another Day, What
You Say, Someone," & "High Society". Overall, this
isn't a completely bad album, but it definitely takes some
getting used to. If you are more into hard-core punk, then you'll
probably really enjoy this album.
