Buck-O-Nine - 28 Teeth

Happy music. This album wasn't bad at all. It has humor, some punk sounds, and some ska. With pretty much a upbeat tempo, it is basically just good music to dance to.
The music is great. Even the guitar sounds vary. Within one song, there are some ska-guitar sounds, some heavy riffs, and even some soft chords. But still, they all sound great together. Jon Pebsworth, the lead singer, has a good voice which prefectly matches the changes in music. This is a band where every musical aspect is important to making the perfect sound.
Even though the lyrics are somewhat morbid, there still is humor in them. For example, in the song Jennifer's Cold, "Jennifer has got a cold and every has got to know" and in the song Steve Was Dead, "I got another phone call, this time it's steve and he's laughing at us all","Steve was dead but it was only for a moment." The lyrics are just based on humorous events that are probably kind of true. What happened to my radio is a very good outlook on mainstream radio. Even though each song sounds different, there isn't a lot of experimentation. Buck-O-Nine havn't tried to stretch their limits or change, in anyway. Jennifer's Cold is a bit ska-ish where as What happened to my Radio is more like punk. Peach Fish is a great instrumental which shows off Buck-O-Nine's talents. Record Store is another great song, about just growing up, and all the people who have good ambitions.
Overall, this album was pretty good. It had good sounds, good lyrics, and everything else combined made it good. If you're into ska or punk or anything else in that area then this is the album for you.
