The Neighborhood Associations of Michigan (NAM) was formed in 1985 through the coordinating efforts of Michigan State University's Center for Urban Affairs. It is an organization of neighborhood associations and community based organizations. Its purposes are to educate, empower, and advocate for community members to improve their quality of life in their
communities. NAM provides resources, technical assistance, and information tofacilitate beneficial activities through statewide networks. NAM represents a strong and vital vehicle that facilitates residents working together.
