    Dr. Mullan is Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in the College of Social Science and an Associate Professor of Sociology. He teaches courses in demography, statistics, research methods and international migration, global transformation, and development. His current research focuses on international migration and community development in South Eastern Europe. Another ongoing research project is entitled "The Demography of Globalization." His most recent research presentation, to an audience of Michigan State legislators and policy-makers in April 2006, focused on the demography of international migration in Michigan. Dr. Mullan has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization and to the Michigan Department of Community Health. He has held prior appointments at the University of Oxford (England), the University of Virginia, and the University of the Aegean (Greece).
