Big Ten Picnic - The Big Ten clubs will be holding a picnic on Sunday, June 1st. Bring the family down to William B. Pond Recreation Area in Carmichael.

MSU vs. Cal Football! - The Spartans will open the 2008 football season at Cal Berkeley on Saturday, August 30th. SacSpartans are taking pre-orders for tickets and, for those interested, we will also be chartering a bus to take us to and from the game.

Local Spartan Publishes a New Book - David Nylund, PhD, MSW recently published Beer, Babes, and Balls: Masculinity and Sports Talk Radio, which explores the increasingly popular genre of sports talk radio and how it relates to contemporary ideas of masculinity. The book is available at Amazon.com.
Big Ten Bowling Event - The Big 10 Clubs of Sacramento met on Saturday, August 18 at Strikes Bowling Alley in Rocklin for for the first annual Big Ten "Bowl Game". MSU was represented by two teams with four players each and came in third place behind Indiana/Purdue (winners) and UofM (2nd place). See the Photo Gallery page for photos of the event.
Young Alumni Coordinator Needed - The Sacramento Valley MSU Alumni Club is creating a new board position for a Young Alumni Coordinator. The role of the Young Alumni
Coordinator will be to conduct outreach and coordinate activities with recent MSU graduates that are new to the Sacramento area. Please contact
