| Mary Lundeberg is a Professor in Teacher Education
and Educational Psychology Departments in the College of Education
at Michigan State University, and Co-Director, Literacy Achievement
Research Center. Dr. Lundeberg received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology
from the University of Minnesota in 1985 and joined the MSU faculty
in 2003. In addition to teaching in higher education, Mary has taught
in K-12 public schools. Her research interests include problem-based
pedagogy in teacher education and science, interactive multimedia
learning environments, scientific literacy and cultural and gender
influences in confidence. She is exploring the effects of text and
video cases on student motivation and understanding in science, and
on teachers' professional development. She is currently co-PI on five
National Science Foundation-funded projects involving multimedia case-based
learning environments in science, research on problem-based models
of professional development in science and interactive case-based
pedagogy in science and engineering. As a Principal Investigator in
the Literacy Achievement Research Center, she is investigating how
interns can develop their practice by creating video cases based on
their classroom discussions in science and literacy. She has won awards
from the International Reading Association, the Wisconsin Department
of Public Instruction, the American Association of Colleges of Teacher
Education, and the University of Minnesota College of Education and
Human Develpment. In 2004-2005, she was selected to participate in
the CIC Academic Leadership Program. |
