Equipment available at the RCPD Assistive Technology Center

At the heart of the RCPD Assistive Technology Center are several Microsoft Windows based computers and a Macintosh system. Each machine is Networked via campus Ethernet to other machines on campus and the World Wide Web. A majority of the systems are located on motorized adjustable height tables for the convenience of those needing a variable work surface height. Computers are equipped with standard application software such as Microsoft Office, web browsers and e-mail software. Each system features assistive solutions making it possible for those with various disabilities to independently access and process the range of information available through computers.

To use the Assistive Technology Center individuals should register with RCPD. Once registered, individuals may receive an introduction to the equipment by consulting their Disability Specialist or the Coordinator for Employees with Disabilities.
