How to Apply to the EEBB Program

Students must apply and be admitted to both the EEBB graduate program and one of the participating departments:

Anthropology, Computer Science and Engineering, Crop and Soil Sciences, Entomology, Fisheries and Wildlife, Forestry, Geography, Geological Sciences, Horticulture, Microbiology, Philosophy, Plant Biology, Plant Pathology, Psychology, Statistics & Probability and Zoology

Prospective students should request application materials from and apply directly to one of these departments.

To apply, students must submit the Michigan State University application form, undergraduate/graduate transcripts, TOEFL scores for international students and a statement of professional goals. They should also submit a one-page application to the Graduate Program in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior indicating the department of which they applied and the degree they intend to pursue. A printable version of this application is available in the following formats: Word, WordPerfect, and plain text. An EEBB Admissions Checklist is available to help with the admissions process.

Students must be accepted by both the EEBB admission committee and that of the participating department. Generally, applicants for fall semester should have all their application materials submitted by January 1 to be in the best position to compete for departmental assistantships. Outstanding undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to compete for National Science Foundation Pre-doctoral Fellowships.
