Social Events at Delta Sigma Phi...
The random trips can easily be the weekends you remember the best after you leave college, and organizing trips when you live in a 22 bedroom house is easy. Trips in the past include Daytona Beach, Acapulco, white water rafting Cancun, Cali, Aspen, New York road trips, 6th street in Austin, Cherry Festival/Controlled Chaos, Bonnaroo, Sky Diving and a lot more.

Having the property that we do its easy to throw fun, huge events for our chapter and our friends is not difficult. Events vary throughout the year from welcome week, weekend parties, date-parties, Greek Week parties, tailgating and 1-on-1s to simply brothers getting together and/or with a few close friends and enjoying the weather, grilling and playing volleyball. Live bands, DJs and themed parties make college a little more interesting.

With a diverse house comes different athletic abilities. Almost every sport can be associated with Delt Sigs during any given year including football, basketball, baseball, softball, frizbee, volleyball, ice hockey, roller hockey and dodgeball. We play in Inter-Fraternal, IM and community leagues, along with charity events held by other East Lansing organizations. Volleyball, horseshoes, croquet and some minor football and baseball is common on our property alone. Brothers are also involved in swimming, running, lifting and other forms of fitness, as many of us have gym memberships.

During the school year several occasions do not follow the mold of the typical college event. These formal times include the Greek Gala, National Convention, Regional Leadership Academy, Closed Rush, formal, semi formal and others. Chivalry is a value of any Delt Sig, and at these events we are nothing less than impressive.

In the fall the chapter takes a trip to West Virginia's New River, one of the top two class five rafting sites in the United States. Pledges are welcome to come and it is one of their first opportunities to really see how real the brotherhood at Delta Sigma Phi is.

Like the White Water Rafting trip, the fall is home to the unmatchable Delt Sigs hayride. Included are basement-size bonfires, country-style hayrides, a date of your choice and a ridiculously good time.

As of 2006, only three years after Delta Sigma Phi's first annual Bed Race was held, almost $11,000 has been raised for the Hannah Community Center's Youth Action Team. Every fall Delt Sigs, alumni, local businesses and local organizations come out to the streets of East Lansing to support this event.
No other Fraternity's philanthropy event is centered around helping an organization based right here in East Lansing and Delt Sigs are proud to be a contributing member of the community.
