Peter Langberg

     Peter Langberg (b.1945), organist and carillonneur, earned highest degree as organist from the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen (1968), as music teacher (1971), in piano performance (1972) and as choir director (1973) and additional engaged in studies in harpsichord playing.

     Mr. Langberg performed his debut concert as an organist in Copenhagen (1970). From 1969 to 1970 he studied organ playing in Paris with Gaston Litaize. At the French Carillon School in Douai he studied under Jacques Lannoy (1977-1981), receiving his diploma as Maître Carillonneur avec Medaille d'Or (1981). He holds honorary membership in the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (bestowed in 1982), was President of the Danish Guild of Carillonneurs (1983), President of the Nordic Society of Campanology (1994-1999), and Vice President of the World Carillon Federation (1992-1998).

     Peter Langberg was professor in organ playing at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen (1971-1979) and professor or organ playing at the Institute for the Blind in Copenhagen (1976-1983). He is founder and Director of the Danish State Church Music School in Løgumkloster, Denmark, as well as being the City Carillonneur of Løgumkloster.
