Jeff Davis
Visiting Performer

     Jeff Davis, composer and Assistant Carillonneur at the University of California, Berkeley, began carillon studies in 1984. He became a carilloneur member of the Guild of Carilloneurs in North America in 1988, and has served on the Examination committee, the Johan Franco Composition Competition committee, and the Board of Directors. He is currently the President of the GCNA.

     A recipient of the National Music Camp Distinguished Alumnus Award, and the Berkeley Medal, Davis made his first European concert tour in 1996, performing in Holland and at the World Carillon Federation meeting in Germany. He performs regularly at the University of California at the Berkeley and Riverside campuses, and was a guest artist at the Springfield, Illinois, International Festival in the summer of 1997.

     Davis studied composition with Howard Hanson, Deems Taylor, and Don Gillis, and has written over one-hundred works in a variety of media, from opera to chamber works.
