From 1984 to 1986 Carol and her family lived in England where she learned the art of English change ringing. She also had the opportunity to play the Old Bond Street carillon, including a recital where Princess Margaret dedicated a plaque for a centennial anniversary of Bond Street.
Carol and her family have been residents of Houston, Texas, on and off since 1978. Besides the two years in England, they had one year in Ghana, one year in New Orleans and four years in Denver. She was the Assistant Carillonneur at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church for many years, and Carillonneur for the year preceding the move to Denver in 1993. Since moving back to Houston she is substitute carillonneur there and has been the regular carillonneur at the Bell Tower Center Carillon since the death of Gene Lasater in March of 1999.
Carol has been a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America since 1971 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1996. She has played two GCNA Congress recitals as well as many recitals around the country. Since 1994 she has been Chairperson of the GCNA Examination Committee. Carol has also been a piano teacher for almost 20 years.
