This website is an expression of my personality and my lifestyle, as well as a convenient way to show my collection to those who are interested.  I don’t collect antiques just to own them, in fact I’ve recently sold quite a bit of my collection.  The purpose of my collection is to gain a better understanding of what life was like in the past, and how the technology worked.  Antique technology poses a challenge in restoration and operation (see the pay phone project), yet with those challenges come rewards.   I gain first-hand experience with everyday things people used to live with generations before me and in this way can connect with the past.   If you're interested in how I got started, click here.

It’s hard for most to understand why anybody would want to use archaic technology; a manual toaster from 1923, an electric fan from 1920, a telephone from 1915, a radio from 1935, a typewriter from 1916, or drive a Model T Ford.  I aspire to gain experience by living history that most people just read about, which is why I do what I do.

Please take time to look through my website and read what is written about the things you find.  This website changes frequently and new things are being added all the time.  The course I have set is to get others interested in the hobby and get some understanding of what it takes to bring an antique machine back to life again.  Nearly every item on this site is from my personal collection, which I own because I have an interest in them.
