Statement of encouragement
Michigan State University has a firm statement of encouragement for Web accessibility.
"The World Wide Web is playing an expanding role in communication, education and community-building.
"MSU is committed to maximizing ability and opportunity for full participation by persons with disabilities.
"Students, faculty, staff and organizational units producing content for the World Wide Web are strongly encouraged to apply principles of Web accessibility as set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium wherever possible in the design and implementation, and in the renewal or replacement, of their Web content.
"Programs and services offered over the World Wide Web that don't meet Web accessibility standards must offer comparable non-Web based programs and services for qualified individuals with disabilities."
