The Michigan State University Women's Ice Hockey
Teams have just opened their third season, and first season as
a charter member of the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association
(CCWHA), a newly formed league of Women's Club Level Collegiate
hockey teams in the midwest.

"A" Team
Head Coach Ellie Griffeth: Ellie comes to us from Princeton University, where she was a Division I four year scholarship recipient as a hockey player from 1989 to 1993. She was a member of the 1991-92 Ivy League Championship team and was named second team All-Ivy the same year. After graduating with an A.B. in American History, she stayed on as an assistant coach for the 1994-95 hockey season. She has since been a youth coach and instructor of various summer camps. She joined our team late last season.
Asst. Coach Christine Patterson: Christine played Division I ice hockey for Cornell University from 1989 to 1993, after playing on her high school team, the Ithaca Shooting Stars. During her freshman season, Cornell was Ivy League Champion. She went on to serve as captain during 1992-93. She graduated with a B.S. in Educational Psychology and went on to earn her M.H.S. in Health Policy at Johns Hopkins University. This is her first year with the MSU team.
Asst. CoachTim Miller:
Tim is currently studying Landscape Architecture at Michigan State.
He comes to us having played eleven years of hockey. His last
team was the Grosse Pointe Devils, where he was captain for one
season, and assistant captain for four years.
"B" Team
Head Coach Todd Shivers: Todd played hockey for the State Runner-up Marysville Michigan High. He has been an assistant coach before, but this is his first head coaching position, and his first year with our team.
Asst. Coach Steve Schroeder: Steve played goal for the same Marysville High team as our head coach. He has primary responsibilities for our goaltending and defensive players.
Asst. Coach Brian Coates: Another former Marysville High player, Brian is directing our offensive lines.
