Janette,
a Nicaraguan Girl
My family's farm is part of a cooperative, where a group of farmers work together. We raise cows, chickens, corn, beans, rice, bananas, and coconuts. I go to school in a small school with my brother Antonio, my sister Patricia, and many of my cousins. My father is the teacher at the school. Around our house is rainforest that I visit sometimes. We have to cut some trees down occasionally to make chairs for the school or fix our house. The thing I'm holding is a
fruit from a tree called Poponjoche. |
