All About the Tribe

If you're not familiar with the Cleveland Indians, you can read all about them on the Official Cleveland Indians Homepage. Major League Baseball is now the administrator for all team sites, so it's not quite as good, in my opinion, as the former official Tribe website. To achieve consistency across all team sites, we Indians fans lost a lot of really neat, personalized information that was previously available. My favorite site for checking out team stats is through ESPN's page.

The Cleveland Live sports page looks pretty good. Another official site is the Akron-Beacon Journal. Go to my "webrings" section to find even more links to the Tribe.

Now on to some of my thoughts. . . First and foremost--John Hart, did right by Cleveland, over the long haul. In a few short years he constructed a world class team out of a pile of rubble that had been laying dormant for 40+ years. However, Mark Shapiro was his right-hand man during this time, so I have complete confidence that he can continue to lead the Tribe in the right direction for the future. He deserves a chance to prove us wrong before we condemn him.

My favorite player is Omar Vizquel and I was disappointed to find essentially no pages devoted to him. So I made my own--check it out!

In my opinion, Omar is the best shortstop ever! He is so much fun to watch in games as he consistently makes spectacular plays, including barehanded catches. I was so glad to see him selected to the All-Star games in 1998 & 1999.

Here are some links to other fan pages for particular players.
