two sets of 8 counts with a double pirouette in the middle. All of the requirements will be demonstrated at tryouts and any questions can be answered there or at any of our technique clinics. |

| Who picks the team? |
Several judges, all with extensive dance background, are brought in to judge auditions. There are two sets of judges, one for first cuts and one for final Team selection. The judges are not informed of who was on the team previously. There is no set number for who is picked to go on to final selection, it is merely done where there is a natural break in the scores. Those picked for the final team are done so based on highest scores.
|
| |
| Does the past year's team have to re-tryout? |
Yes, but those members that have been on the Team before will automatically make it through the first cut. |
| |
| Are there height and/or weight requirements? |
|
Absolutely not. The MSU Dance Team does not discriminate against any height, weight, gender, race, religion, etc. |
| |
| What should I wear to auditions? |
Please wear comfortable attire that lets you move freely. Tennis shoes are acceptable for first cuts, but for second cuts dance shoes are recommended. You MUST wear form-fitting clothing on days you tryout so that judges
can see all your movement. |
| |
| Is there a cost? |
Yes, it is $20 to tryout for the team. This fee is non-refundable. Please send a check made out to MSU Dance Team with your Tryout Application, Medical Release Waiver, and Pre-Participation Health History Forms. |
