Griffin Island's NPC Bazaar

It's Friday evening: You're suppose to start playing in 30 minutes, and nothing is ready. Well hang on. I have done that many times and I have decided to start downloading my archives on the WEB. I will be starting with NPC sheets similar to the one provided in the supplement "Viking". You can just click on the button and print or save the sheet. Your NPCs are ready to fight. And don't worry, a good battle against an orc patrol can nicely fill-up an evening. You will probably be disappointed in a few years to realize that none of your players remember the great scenario that took you 5 weeks to design, but they can remember practically each turn of the bar fight in the Pig Inn... Those of you lucky owners of the old "Griffin Mountain" may recognize some of the old NPCs. I updated them for RQ3, as the original designers of Griffin Island did with others. You will need Adobe Acrobat 3.0 to see the NPC sheets through your browser, but the reader is provided free at:

Location

Ockless

Honor to the bad guys: here are my first NPCs.

A patrol of the human guard of Ockless. Use it to greet your players at the gate, check their identities in the streets or arrest them if they cause trouble in the local inn. These are roughly the equivalent of city policemen.

A patrol of Votanki hunters working for Ockless. These scouts patrol in permanence about 25Km around the city, and report any suspicious party to the citadel. Any players trying to sneak into Ockless or running away from it are likely to play cat and mouse with the hunters and their voiceless dogs.

A group of Ockless royal guards. These NPCs are the personal bodyguards of king Glyptus and they control security in the palace. They are frightening opponents for all but the most seasoned adventurers, and their number (30) makes them even more dangerous.

A patrol of lesser orcs. These creatures have no manner. They swear, spit and fart all the time, trying to abuse and harass anyone they consider "an easy target". They are fundamentally coward and will run screaming for help at the smallest injury.
